Hi there. I’m Garrett, a IT/computer geek living in Huntsville, Alabama. I’ve lived here for most of my life . . . so far, anyway. Right now, I travel quite extensively for work, so I’m actually not in Alabama most of the time, which is, on most days, perfectly fine with me. At some point I’m going to move somewhere with more mountains.
As you’ve probably figured out, I’m a bit of a geek and have a tendency to read a lot of books.
In addition to spending an inordinate amount of time reading and discussing the stuff that you see on this site, I also am an aviation enthusiast. The point of getting this domain name, actually, was to document the process of building a plane, so if you go up to the root level of this site – right here – www.golfsierra.org – you’ll find an airplane-building website, which (so far) is quite a bit larger, more extensive, and has more pictures. It has almost nothing to do with this blog, and is really only interesting if you want to learn more about building airplanes.
I’m also enthusiastic about hiking and being outdoors, as well as the landscape photography that such activities seem to provide. I’ve also got some results of my photographic efforts online – honestly, they’re rather amateur but still hopefully enjoyable, and the site badly needs to be updated, as my recent stuff isn’t up there at all. Sorry.
I’m also a fan of microbrew beer, Thai food, and fondue.
